Dance Instructors for the 2018-2019 Season!
Ms. Loryn has been dancing since 1995. She danced competitively for 10 years in studio and out, starting at the age of 8. While on her competition team she performed at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World, in the Detroit Opera House’ rendition of The Nutcracker, in the Moscow Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker at the Fox Theater, and danced with her performing team for a big screen movie. During those years she studied, performed and competed in Las Vegas, Orlando and across the state of Michigan winning multiple regional titles for group performances. She has worked along side guest teachers and choreographers such as Mandy Moore, Tara Foy, Pam Bowling, Rhonda Miller and Becca Sweitzer. Just before the Grand Opening of Ford Field in 2002, Ms. Loryn performed with the dance organization Impact at the first ever event, an investors dinner, held at Ford Field. At age 10 she became a class assistant at her studio, helping with recreational class as well as the performing/pre-competitive classes. Once in high school, Ms. Loryn was a 4-year member of Walled Lake Northern’s Poms team. While on the team she choreographed a number of dances for both the JV and Varsity teams. These dances were for game-time shows as well as competitions. Two of her dances received awards at the local competitions. After her freshmen year of college Loryn took a summer job working for I Can Dance Studio, a dance and enrichment program created to help kids in the Metro-Detroit area. Ms. Loryn is well versed in choreography and dance progressions that help students attain the best technique possible.
Ms. Loryn has been with the American Allstars family since February 2015. She is excited to be sharing her love of dance and 20+ years of experience with the students of the Allstars Dance Studio.
Ms. Tracy grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. At a young age she started dancing at The Knoxville Performing Arts Institute, where she focused on Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Musical Theater Show Choir. She competed for 8 years with the Advanced Competitive Company Team called Center Stage, where she won many individual and team awards. Tracy was also a dance instructor and Show Choir Teacher for over 3 years at The Knoxville Performing Arts Institute. Ms. Tracy earned a degree in Commercial Entertainment and Music Business at Columbia State Performing Arts College in Nashville, Tennessee. During her time in Nashville she was a backup dancer for the Dove Christian Music Awards, Studio Singer for Sarobi Sound and Lou Do Music. She also worked as a scenic stage design painter for many country music artists with CMT and RCA. At the age of 18, she performed at Paramount’s Carowinds Theme Park in Charlotte, North Carolina as a swing entertainer and Dance Captain for two seasons. Over the years she worked with numerous production companies. The latest being Royal Caribbean Productions, where she was a features entertainer on board many of their cruise ships for over 12 years. She also worked for Raddison Seven Seas as a Featured Entertainer for 2 years. Her singing genre consists of contemporary, R&B, Pop, Rock, Musical Theater, Country and Jazz. As a vested performer she has no fear of tackling new material. She truly loves sharing her talents through teaching dance and singing. Ms. Tracy not only loves being on stage as a singer/dancer, she has worked behind the scenes and backstage. She has worked as a Stage Manager, Production Manager, Scenic Design, Costuming and Wig stylist.
Ms. Tracy performed in our SOLD OUT Recital Show last season as our finale singer as we celebrated all of the student’s hard work last year. She is so excited to be apart of the Allstars Dance Family. She can’t wait to help your children develop their skills in dance and performance. “Dance is art, paint your dream and follow it.”
Ms. Angela has been dancing since 1997. She studied tap, ballet, jazz and contemporary for many years. She danced competitively on an off throughout elementary and middle school. At age 10 she developed a love for musical theater and began studying the Broadway styles of dance. Ms. Angela performed in several musicals at Walled Lake Western High School in their youth chorus as well as Walled Lake events such as the Memorial Day parade and Market Days in downtown. While in high school she continued to take dance classes and was a featured dancer in several of the musicals put on at Walled Lake Central including Seussical, Beauty and the Beast, and Les Miserables. After graduating high school Ms. Angela was inspired to pursue musical theater as a career and studied at Central Michigan University with a focus on music theater and dance. While at CMU she studied under Professor Heather Trommer-Beardslee, Dr. Annette Thornton and tap choreographer Ellie Scierra. Ms. Angela attended workshops with the Jump Rhythm Jazz Project as well as the Martha Graham residency program. She was a featured dancer in several musicals put on by the university, including The Scarlet Pimpernel, 42nd Street, and the infamous dance classic A Chorus Line. She graduated from Central Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Voice and a minor in Dance. Ms. Angela hopes to one day move to New York City and grace the stage on the Great White Way!
